Many innovative product developments take place within the Fraunhofer association which are ahead of their time. The area of the distributed use of IT resources is no exception here. Within many years of research and product development of the umbrella instutes of the Fraunhofer Enterprise GRIDs, own software solutions have been developed to solve various problems, which are not available in current GRID solutions.Below is an overview of these products, which are also distributed under the label of Enterprise Grids. We also carry out these software solutions on request.

Gridifizierung
|
Normally, the change on new technologies like Grid, SOA, and Virtual technologies brings an adaptation-demand for existing Legacy-applications with itself. In the Grid-environment, this adaptation-process is called with the term of "Gridifizierung". Fraunhofer Enterprise Grids offers you a support with the adaptation or rather with the Gridifizierung of your old applications, so you can still work with your approved applications also on the new technological basis.

Calana
|
Calana is a capable and tested resource broker framework for Grid resources, Grid services and web services. With the help of the Calana Resource Broker you can achieve a significant simplification of the interactions between users and resources or applications/services in your enterprise, or - if you like - also across company boarders. Calana determines the best available application and the best available IT infrastructure within your company Grid according to the users requirements.

FemZIP
|
FEMZIP compresses data under consideration of the precision in different steps so that they can be used for Standard-Post processing as substitute-data after the decompression. The compression is not loss-free on that occasion. The precision of the compressed data can be established by the user.

|
Grid portals build the intersection between the user and the Grid. They are the environment which has to invite to the use of these technologies and they have to arrange the additional benefit to the user successfully. It is their task to hide the complexity of IT-Infrastructure and to enable the user in simple way, to derive the utmost profit from the applications and services of a Grid- Infrastructure and to have to invest as little as possible time on that occasion.

Grid Workflow
|
While there are many tools available for workflow management in business process modelling (e.g. SAP, IBM, Oracle) there are only very few and inadequate products for the automatization of processes in Grid environments, which usually deal with only very limited classes of processes and do not offer adequate, intuitively usable user interfaces. The advancement of the Fraunhofer Grid Job Handler towards a generic Grid Workflow Management System creates a unique selling point in the market area of workflow management for Grid applications.

MpCCI
|
With the code coupling software MpCCI (Multidisciplinary Simulations through Code Coupling) Fraunhofer SCAI has available a unique »selling point« in the market of computational engineering. MpCCI is currently distributed in a pre-Grid Version. Strategic cooperations for technological development and sales are currently existing with Fluent, Abaqus and CD Adapco. With the development of Grid technologies and their assertion in the market a necessity emerges to offer grid-capable versions of this software as a product. It is therefore the aim to offer coupled simulation solution over an application Grid.

PhastGrid
|
PHAST Grid is a complete »service-oriented-architecture-concurring« realization of a sentence-oriented Grid-Solution. PHAST Grid contains components that parallelize automatically and is highly available. Therefore it is predestines for urgent Grid-Applications. At the moment it is being used in the finance area for portfolio analyses in a customized adaption.

GenLM
|
Conventional license management technologies like hardware dongles are not suitable for grid- and cloudcomputing environments, making it hard for ISVs to offer licenses for these environments. GenLM, a new license management technology of the Fraunhofer ITWM, overcomes these difficulties by allowing "mobile" licenses.
